The Folklore Museum of Poros is the fruit of private initiative: the love and determination of the members of the PORIOTISSA Women's Cultural Association of Poros, founded in 2003, which set the creation of the museum among its principal statutory aims. The folk material was gathered with great effort, patience and persistence by the members of the association, through donations from members and friends as well as purchases. It includes an interesting collection of household utensils, objects of everyday use, tools of rural life, furniture from traditional island homes, a loom, embroidery, weavings, handicrafts of every kind, uniforms, traditional costumes, photographs and more. The museum of Poros is registered among the folklore museums of the Greek Ministry of Culture.

Το Λαογραφικό Μουσείο Πόρου είναι δημιούργημα της ιδιωτικής πρωτοβουλίας, της αγάπης και της θέλησης των μελών του Πολιτιστικού Συλλόγου Γυναικών Πόρου «ΠΟΡΙΩΤΙΣΣΑ», που ιδρύθηκε το 2003 και αποτέλεσε έναν από τους βασικούς καταστατικούς του σκοπούς. Το λαογραφικό υλικό συγκεντρώθηκε με πολλή προσπάθεια, υπομονή, αντοχή και θέληση από τα μέλη του Συλλόγου, από δωρεές μελών και φίλων και από αγορές. Περιλαμβάνει μια ενδιαφέρουσα συλλογή από οικιακά σκεύη, αντικείμενα καθημερινής χρήσης, εργαλεία της αγροτικής ζωής, έπιπλα της λαϊκής κατοικίας, αργαλειό, κεντήματα, υφαντά, κάθε είδους εργόχειρα, στολές, φορεσιές, φωτογραφίες και άλλα. Το μουσείο του Πόρου είναι καταχωρημένο στα Λαογραφικά Μουσεία του Υπουργείου Πολιτισμού.
